Balangir, also known as Bolangir, is a city and city in Balangir District, in the state of Odisha, India.
Bolangir has a rich public historical past. Though monetarily not very well off, it has an outstanding potential for development. There are many important visitor locations in Bolangir area. The more well-known among them include Harishankar, NarsinghNath etc. The Samaleshwari Temple in the Balangir city is also very famous.
On the Southern slope of the Gandhamardan hills stands Harishankar, a place of pilgrimage with uncommon scenic charms.As a cool resort in the lap of nature, Harishankar is a panacea for the heat of the summer season.Trekkers and adventurists also find the journey an interesting one.

Hari Shankar is one the best tourists attractions in western part of Odisha. Thousands of pilgrims and tourists come to this place to pray and take blessings from the presided deities. You'll feel relaxed after visiting this place as it is surrounded by greenery, flowers, various types of flora and fauna. I'd visited this place two years before along with my classmates in the month of December. We thoroughly enjoyed the whole journey. Apart from that, there are many other tourist attractions in Odisha especially in the western part that will leave you awestruck.
